Hornbill Festival

The Hornbill festival in Nagaland is held in the first week of December. The festival showcases the stunning natural beauty and cultural traditions of Nagaland. Hornbill festival is organized by the Government of Nagaland to encourage the inter-tribal cultural interaction and confluence of the Naga Culture at one place. The main purpose of this festival is to revive, protect and preserve the richness and uniqueness of the Naga heritage. The hornbill festival is a tribute to the hornbill bird which is admired by the local people for alertness and grandeur.
