Durga Puja Festival

Durga Puja in West Bengal is festival of great religious reverence. This day is marked as the victory of Good over evil. It is held during the month of October/ November. The idols of Goddess Durga is made of mud and decorated beautifully with expensive clothes and jewellery. These idols are worshipped in the decorated halls and tents for 9 days with cultural events and shows all over Bengal. On tenth day of the celebration the idols are taken to be immersed in the river or the sea with and elaborate processions.
